hallow'een.

It pretty much speaks for itself. Except this year, we tried something new. We got the kids dressed up, and headed downtown Mac for the annual trick-or-treat thing. Which we will NEVER repeat NEVER do again. It was crowded, and basically like standing in line for way too long, for way too little candy. Nice thought, but no thanks. As we were on our way out, we ran into some friends who have a tasting room on third, and were enjoying the spectacle with their kids from the big windows looking onto the street. Suddenly, things were looking up! There was wine! Friends! Chocolate! It was a much better time. :)
We raced home to meet up with mimi & pa for trick-or-treaters - the boys took the kids out, and the girls answered the door. (YES! GOOD PLAN!) Fun was had - especially when Melissa showed up as Tammy Faye. Chloe cried. For good reason. Scroll to the end...just grab a tissue for that mascara if you do!

Costume notes: we did get a super cute Queen Amidala costume to go with the boys' costumes from Nana, but, being newly independent, Miss Coco flatly refused it. I'm pretty sure it was the headpiece she wasn't hot on, but without it, you couldn't tell what she was! So, the night before Halloween, we happened to be in babies r us for diapers, and found the pink princess dress. For SIX DOLLARS. New policy - always shop for costumes the night before Halloween!
