We don't get out a whole lot around here. What with the three children, and....well, they're mostly the main impediment. Anyhow, we feel like real grown up people now that we went to TWO concerts in the last TWO weeks. Both in the BIG CITY (you know, Portland.) Last Friday, we celebrated my mom's upcoming birthday by taking my parents (and Chloe - she's free!) to see the Indigo Girls at the Portland Zoo. The boys stayed with sweet Melissa (Aidan is now in the throes of a teensy weensy obsession - as in "mom, you're sitting where Melissa sat last night when we ate pizza"), Chloe got to enjoy some one-on-one with the four grownups (she obviously doesn't get enough attention), and we even got to catch up with friends! It was SO hot - although little did we know it would only get worse this week! Please excuse the crummy cell phone pics - it was hot, and I forgot my big camera, which apparently they wouldn't let me bring in anyway. Humph.
By Sunday, Mac was at 102 or so - so we hit the beach with good friends. It was cool, foggy, exactly what the heat doctor ordered. They brought their pup, and of course my boys were in total doggy heaven. They want a dog so bad. So not happening, right now.
Then, on Friday, we left all three kids with Mimi and headed back to Portland to hook up with Switchfoot at the Crystal Ballroom. Love that place. Love those guys - specially this one - and we got to bring some friends, who also had no kids for the weekend. We stayed out late, ate gobs and gobs of sushi, hung with people we don't see enough, laughed WAY too much, hopped from bar to bar, and generally acted like the fun people we were so, so long ago.
